I talked a little earlier this month about my plans for Terraform moving forward, and I’ve come to a decision on what it is that I want to do. There are two major tasks that I’ve wanted to accomplish for a while:
- Finish posting Chapter 2.
- Update the site to be more in line with modern webcomic formats and be more accessible in general.
I’ve been putting a lot of time into the next chapter, but I’ve also been relatively slow in posting upcoming pages for Chapter 2 to try to have enough lead time so that I can have one page per week, or at least every other week. It’s taken a bit to come to the conclusion that, given the way things are in my personal and work life, that’s just not going to happen, and it may be better to go with a “when it’s done” approach to pages moving forward instead of giving myself hard deadlines. I get enough of those as-is for work, and pressuring myself outside of making a living isn’t helping.
What I’d rather do is knock out the remaining pages all in one go, then take a bit of a break from posts to update the site and prep to start posting the next chapter in early 2022. So that’s exactly what I’m going to do. In the short term, it’ll take some additional burden off my shoulders as I’m not constantly worrying about when the next page should go live.
There’s no exact timeline on this; I’m doing some cleanup on the remaining pages for Chapter 2, including adding a connecting page that I missed while finalizing the rest of Chapter 2 the first time. I’m setting a soft target of late October for the big page drop, so let’s just say it’ll be… Soon™. In the meantime, this should also give me time to refocus on some other projects and art that have fallen by the wayside a bit. I’ve been a little creatively drained, but I’m nothing if not stubborn and persistent, and I can feel those creative justices starting to flow again. That’s all for now.
